Michael V. Novak always had the dream to write 3 books: a novel, a collection of poetry, and a collection of short stories. He successfully accomplished that goal, publishing them through his own company, mljamms enterprises. His novel, To Destiny, was nominated for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award in 2010. Michael has had several book signing engagements through the years and continues to be a keynote speaker on the topics of writing and publishing. He continues to write and publish, with his next projects including a seventh collection of poetry and a compilation of his tales from his 35+ years in youth ministry. TO DESTINY is a fiction novel by Michael V. Novak, published in July 2009. It is an engaging tale of a lifelong friendship that endures love found and lost. It also deals with the struggles of life's decisions and finding one's true self amidst family, friends and a cottage by the lake. It is filled with light-hearted, true tales of Michael's childhood, the intertwining of lives and reflections of the journey to attain one's destiny.

He is a deejay and has worked for the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Detroit for over twenty years as a Director of Faith Formation and Youth Minister. Michael V. (M.L.) Novak is a father, grandfather, D.J, Director of Faith Formation and Youth Minister. He has worked in the Archdiocese of Detroit for twenty-eight years. He was raised in a large family and attended private schools before going off to Adrian College for three years in the early 1980’s. He later earned his Associate of Arts in Ministry Degree and Pastoral Ministry Certification from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. He later earned his B.A. from The University of Detroit Mercy. He has won several local awards for Service to the Community and Faith Leadership. He has led countless service trips, youth retreats, and World Youth Day Pilgrimages in his tenure. He is the creator of the “Jammin’ With Jesus” and “YouthstocK” programs. WEATHERED RHYME is a unique collection of poetry in that, after each poem, Michael V. Novak includes the "elucidation" or inspiration for the preceding verses. He is a dad, husband, papa, best friend, mentor to many, and youth minister of 34 years. He draws inspiration from everyone he meets and every situation he is in. He has written several other books that are amazing. His rhyme patterns are very complex and he has a unique style of writing. He is always trying to come up with concepts, patterns, and ideas for writing that no one has ever done before, or at least, not in a very long time! You can feel all aspects of his life through his poetry, from sadness and pain to love and joy. Spirituality is at the heart of almost everything he writes.
He likes to spend time with his family and friends, relaxing at our two cottages in Northern Michigan, one in Alpena and the other in Bay Port.
He and I love to be around the grandchildren, shop at retail stores, go to farmer's markets/flea markets, and eat out often, yet barbeque whenever possible. We love to drive and travel and enjoy life to the fullest, seeing each and every day as a blessing and opportunity to inspire and be inspired.

IN A NUTSHELL is a collection of stories written in the fashion of sudden fiction, under 100 words each, and even shorter stories, all the way down to single digit word count. These stories are literally anywhere from 1 to 100 words. The title of the book is derived from a saying which means: In a nutshell: 1) in the fewest possible words. 2) summed up briefly, giving only the main points. 3) use the phrase in a nutshell when you want to make it clear that you're going to sum something up in just a few words. The book was released in September of 2022.

SPIRIT SPARKLES is Michael V. Novak's 7th collection of poetry and 15th published book. It began on 12/20/20, when Michael witnessed what he considers to be a spiritual phenomena. He calls the experience "Spirit Sparkles", which gave him the title for his new book of poems at just the right time, as WRITE ON MY HEART, his 6th collection of poetry, was coming to completion. This book begins with poem #797 of the author's lifetime. He decided when it began to end this collection on 11/11/22, no matter how many poems it would contain. He just likes the connection of the date. The book includes 137 new poems, which brings Michael V. Novak's total poem count written in his lifetime to 933. 70 of the 137 poems in Spirit Sparkles were turned into songs. Spirit Sparkles was released in November of 2022.

Novak (ML) is a sports enthusiast. He still plays sports and continues to coach. He has led many teams to championship seasons. He remains active in sports and life. As one young man recently attested to on the basketball court, "He has found the fountain of youth!" That fountain, for Michael, is family and friends, faith and ministry, fun and sports. His God is an awesome God and he, in return, has proven to be an awesome youth minister for nearly 40 years. Enjoy his sweet, startling, and celebratory tales.

UNDER THY WING is Michael V. Novak's 8th collection of poetry. It will begin on 11/12/22, when Michael completes his prior collection of poetry, "Spirit Sparkles". The title comes from a bible verse, Psalm 91:4...
"You will be covered and protected with thine feathers and under thy wing you will find refuge. Thine truth shall surround you and thy faithfulness will be your shield." This bible verse had significance meaning in Michael's life in the months leading up to the conceptualization of this book and its title. Those life events included taking on work at two churches, surviving a bout with covid and going through a traumatic, serious heart issue that entailed a miraculous journey. The book will commence in a timeline suitable to his other books of poetry.
